We formed ka-tet with the idea that it would be a small number of large corps. Everything would be equal among the member corps as far as the running of the alliance. Everything went well at first, but then we started losing our pvp base because we had nap'd everyone and their brother and we had to go 30 jumps to find a fight. The idea that it has anything to do with money is rediculous...there are tons of good moons out there, and although the drones don't have bounties, they have other things that smart people can take advantage of and make a lot of money. Look at the billions of isk in ship losses on the ka-tet KB, and the way they continue to throw ships away. Production capabilities out there are unmatched. But I digress.
Back to the topic at hand...once the pvp'ers started leaving, it caused a large shift in power within both Rampage Eternal and Untaught. They basically split into seperate groups, with a large number of senior members leaving because of lack of pvp. We had similar problems in AWM, but not nearly on the level as RAM and T.DK. The higher ups leaving were replaced by people who were not holding true to the ideals that we had when forming ka-tet...it eventually downgraded to where it is now, which is basically a smaller ASCN. Lots of isk and production capability, but mostly carebear and a weird conglomerate of crappy little corps...and I forsee them going down like ASCN.
Come to think of it...most of this downward slide started happening when a number of ASCN refugee corps showed up on our doorstep and we took them in as renter/residents....hmmm...
But, as far as corps/people leaving now, it's like with any other KOS-esque alliance...corps are going to come and go on a pretty steady basis, mainly people thinking it's going to be grand and finding out that they would be better off running lvl3 missions for Nurtura than being in ka-tet, and leave.
Ka-tet was never supposed to have more than 4 member corps according to our original charter. We should have just kept our blue to RA and set everyone else neutral...I can only dream of what things would be like now if we had held true to that.

This man speaks truth.
this is the most truth in this thread.
it was unfortunate that ka-tet had to die but in a game like this its natural selection and ka-tet's time had come. Alliances come and go but friends made in said alliances remain friends, i hope this is the case in some circumstances.
RIP ka-tet, was a nice dream while it lasted
These guys spoke the truth.
"We are a brotherhood, we have built, fought, bled and died together û expecting anything less from each other is simply unacceptable."
